Graz Old Town is packed with culture and rich heritage. It strikes the prefect proportion of historical sites, art shops and trendy restaurants making it the prefect destination to visit.
To avoid the crowd, I headed to the Old Town on a Sunday. Though most of the shops weren't open, the historical sites were still available. It is the prefect opportunity for me to indulge in some shutter therapy.

1. Kunsthaus Graz
First stop, Kunsthaus Graz. The unique design of the art museum makes it stood out among the other buildings. At night, dotted lights animate across the museum resembling a futuristic spacecraft.

2. Love Lock Bridge
The love lock bridge stood directly opposite Kunsthaus Graz. On the bridge, you get a scenic view of Graz along Mur river. This is a popular photo spot and I understand why.

3. Murinsel
Murinsel is a floating "island" in the middle of the Mur river connecting both the river banks. I was taken in by the charms of the structure and it reminded me of the Helix Bridge in Singapore. Too bad I didn't get the chance to see it light up at night.

4. Hauptplatz & Townhall
Hauptplatz and town hall are important historical places in Graz. This is the heart of the town where the tram stop is and a number of food trucks were set up in the vicinity.

5. Herrengasse
Herrengasse is the main shopping street of the city. You can't miss the "tattooed" Herzoghof building known as Gemalte Haus (painted house). I love the amount of action happening in this art piece on a house. Simply brilliant!

6. Landhaus Courtyard
Landhaus Courtyard is located along the Herrengasse street. I love the feeling of entering the small walkway and eventually leads you into the huge arcade courtyard.

I managed to catch this stylish couple in their stunning outfit. Guy's in a classic black suit with red tie and the lady is rocking a navy sweater and green scarf. They make the perfect subject against the elegant arcade courtyard.

I lifted Sonia and saw this dirty green clock tower on the red roof which immediately reminded me of the couple. I guess the 'green and red effect' is still on me.

7. Double Spiral Staircase
Double Spiral Staircases is right beside Graz Castle. This quirky staircase starts with a 2 way split and both ways spirals up the same staircase leading to the top. The staircase is made of stone and lighted up by sunlight shining through windows.

8. Schloßberg
I took the lift up Schloßberg and visited the iconic giant clock tower. On the hill, there are a number of restaurants and cafes, as well as great viewpoints to admire the panoramic view of the city.

Above are some of the must-visit places in Graz Old Town. There are definitely other wonderful locations that are not mentioned above. I enjoyed the trip down to the old town and here are my prize shots.
